The Love of a Burmese Cat

Image
It never ceases to amaze me, how many people that visit our home that are fascinated by our Burmese kitties. Our kitties follow you around,  fetch, never know a stranger....all traits that are not common of many household cats.  They want to know where I got these cats, their fur is so soft, and many other questions and curiosities about this breed. The story began when I was given a 2 year old male Burmese from a friend that could no longer keep the cat.  I was going through a very tough time in my life and he felt the cat and I needed each other. I had never owned a house cat, much less a pedigree cat. He followed my every step, he slept on my desk when I worked at home, he sleep at the foot of my bed, he layed next to me when I watched television, seeming like he never left my side. This cat became a precious friend to me and when I married a few years later, my husband understood the love for this cat. He was a very special friend to us. We lost him at the age of 11 to kidney fa

All of my Love

I can’t believe January is half way over and it’s just less than a month until Valentine’s Day! I happened into the Sweet Hearts Swap and thought how fun it would be to join in.  I love to make things...I think you know that about me! The theme for the Swap is at least one item handmade that is Valentine relat ed. I can't post any pictures of the finished products yet, but you will see them posted on Valentines Day.  I will also include pics of the swap I receive. How much fun this is! Sometimes, it takes getting involved in a swap to get me to sit down and take time in my studio.

Choosing a Color You Love

Image
Sometimes choosing a new color scheme for your home can be scary.  My travel to France last September made me fall in love with blue.  Or is it the winter making me blue? I keep having this attraction to blue. I have never loved this color so much...this is scaring me.  I got paint samples for the dining room and kitchen  I would like to incorporate it in my home, but I really need some inspiration for the right blue.

Planning...2014

“Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.”  ―  Oprah Winfrey I am not much on making New Year Resolutions....they seem to be the things I alway break. This weekend,  Dave & I have been planning our travels and I have been checking out art events that are happening throughout the year I would like to attend.  As many of our close friends know...Dave is a very gifted artist. He find something that inspires him, and next he is researching it and building it. Some of his latest projects have been making Native American & Japanese style flutes, banjos, and teaching himself to play the flute, banjo and mandolin. He had never played any of these instruments, simply teaching himself by watching youtube videos. He is an accomplished kite maker with a specialty in making fighter kites. He has been a National Champion in design and competition.  He has been an artist in residence in the schools in Oklahoma.   This year the American National Kite As
