Recently, I have had an opportunity to take some great classes with some of the most talented artist around the nation. I am going to spend some of my next post sharing some of these classes. Several years ago, early in my awakening to art is when I met Julie Haymaker for the first time in Portland, Oregon at Art & Soul. Such a beautiful soul & talented artist. She has since developed an art technique for shrinking plastic to make jewelry. Basically, it is simply using Shrinky Dink paper. Taking this technique and mixing with metal was one of the classes that I took. And I want to add this class was at Paper Crown in Oklahoma City, the best shop of its kind in the nation. If you are ever in Oklahoma City...its a must see!

This past year has been filled with many wonderful travels, classes, and projects around the house. Many of my friends have kept asking when I was going to post pics of this and that, so I am going to catch up. I honestly didn't think anyone read my blog anymore so, this has been quite a surprise to me. Thank You for following along and I will be posting stories for the coming weeks. This coming week I am preparing for a jewelry exhibit at the Chisholm Trail Arts Council. Each year they host a Kick Off Party for the Membership Drive. They ask area artist to display art to sell. I have always made jewelry for gifts & have only offered a few pieces for sale during classes that I have taught. Check back next week with more post...
