Fall is my Favorite Time of the Year

Its been a bit crazy the past couple weeks and I know I need to discipline myself to getting some thngs done for the upcoming holidays. I took a wonderful class from a talented artist by the name of Jenn, she goes by NoodlesandLou on her Instagram and you should follow her and her talented work with clay. I made this darling girl that is already hanging on my wall for the holidays. I will be teaching a much simpler clay technique for the Chisholm Trail Arts Council. Call the CTAC to join us on December 7th. You will be able to take this simply technique and run with your imaginations with these darling little smowmen. I hope you are enjoying the fall weather as much as I am. I had to stop on the road the other day before they cut some of the local cotton and some of the fall pumpkins.

Paper Crown Glitter Retreat 2017

Paper Crown Glitter Retreat began the weekend with a bus ride to the Pioneer Woman's Mercantile in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. It was just over a 2 hour drive from Oklahoma City. The store features many of the Pioneer Woman's favorite cooking utensils, clothing, children's toys, recipe books, Oklahoma collectibles, and a huge array of serving pieces. The 2nd floor has a Bakery a huge array of sweet treat, as well as some light eats. There is a drink bar with coffees and teas. I recognized this room from her show where they often host many of the large events at the Mercantile. The 1st floor was the store as well as the restaurant. We enjoyed every inch of the Mercantile and ended the day with a homestyle served dinner featuring many of the Pioneer Woman's favorite recipes.  I'll post with information about the great classes taught by the amazing Paper Crown teachers over the weekend in the next couple days.

Great Classes by Great Artist

Recently, I have had an opportunity to take some great classes with some of the most talented artist around the nation. I am going to spend some of my next post sharing some of these classes.
Several years ago, early in my awakening to art is when I met Julie Haymaker for the first time in Portland, Oregon at Art & Soul. Such a beautiful soul & talented artist. She has since developed an art technique for shrinking plastic to make jewelry. Basically, it is simply using Shrinky Dink paper. Taking this technique and mixing with metal was one of the classes that I took.
And I want to add this class was at Paper Crown in Oklahoma City, the best shop of its kind in the nation. If you are ever in Oklahoma City...its a must see!

Time for an update....

This past year has been filled with many wonderful travels, classes, and projects around the house. Many of my friends have kept asking when I was going to post pics of this and that, so I am going to catch up. I honestly didn't think anyone read my blog anymore so, this has been quite a surprise to me. Thank You for following along and I will be posting stories for the coming weeks.
This coming week I am preparing for a jewelry exhibit at the Chisholm Trail Arts Council. Each year they host a Kick Off Party for the Membership Drive. They ask area artist to display art to sell. I have always made jewelry for gifts & have only offered a few pieces for sale during classes that I have taught. Check back next week with more post...

I wish you and your family the renewal of life, love, and happiness. May you feel the bright, joyful blessings God has to offer you during this Easter holiday.

Spring is my favorite time of the year. Everything is fresh & new. The trees and flowers are blooming. Getting my hands in the dirt, is like the best therapy for me. The winter pansies will last until the weather gets warmer. Our redbud tree is blooming...it is absolutely stunning. And as I drive along the country roads, I see the Iris blooming. They remind me of my grandmother. It was a flower she always grew.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TIME OF THE YEAR?
